St. Vitus Parish, established in 1893 as the first American Slovenian Roman Catholic parish in the state of Ohio and diocese of Cleveland, will have its annual summer parish picnic open to the general public, on JULY 18, 2021 (SUNDAY). 

The day will begin with a Noon Mass in the dance pavilion with newly appointed and seventh pastor, Reverend John Retar.

Immediately AFTER the Noon Mass, a dinner will be served with head cook/chef, Joe Tavcar.

Menu will be pork schnitzel, potatoes, side dish of salad and side dish of mixed vegetables with roll/butter and side dish of desert.

Tickets are only $15 adult and $12 for child 12-year-old or younger. Take out dinners will be provided.

Only 300 dinners will be prepared, and reservations or advance pre-order tickets are strongly recommended by calling the parish rectory (216) 361-1444 or via email at “skuhar@hotmail.com” Dinner tickets will be held as “will call” at the treasury table.

The Cleveland TOPS Swing Band, a 13-piece orchestra, will play for your listening and dancing entertainment in the afternoon.

Cevapcici dinners will also be available by the side grill AFTER the dinner. Reservations or advance pre-sale tickets are strongly recommended by calling 216-361-1444 or via email at “skuhar@hotmail.com“

The kitchen will provide side food, Slovenian sausage, hamburgers/cheeseburgers, french fries, etc., during the afternoon AFTER the dinner while a wide variety of refreshments will be available after the Mass. A Chinese Raffle will also be held along with a main raffle. Main raffle tickets are $5 each. Or a book of 16 for $60 only. Home-made pastries including the famous Slovenian style raised donut, “krofe,” will also be available.

The swimming pool will also be open with nominal fees for Pristava members as well as non-members of Pristava.

Our theme for July 18, 2021 is “Welcome Back!”

Net proceeds will be used for general operating and capital improvements on and around parish grounds.
