The date is set for our fun filled afternoon of fellowship, dancing, food and entertainment! St. Mary's Parish Picnic is taking place next week on Sunday, August 17th, 2014! Please plan on attending this wonderful event that helps support our Parish and it's many programs!
FOOD/BEVERAGE OPTIONS: The greatest cook around, Julie Zalar, will prepare a chicken/roast beef dinner to be served after Mass. Also served during the day will be a succulent roast pig and roast lamb option, brats and burgers in the Biergarten, and no picnic would be complete without delicious cevapcici. The bar will serve plenty of refreshments and our now famous Biergarten will have a wealth of beers from around the world!
RAFFLES: Tickets will be available soon for our main raffle with opportunities to win great cash prizes! We ask all parishioners to pick up their ticket packs and sell or purchase the books. Another year also brings another chance at winning one of our many wonderful Chinese Auction baskets.
ACTIVITIES: The pool will be open with extreme fun on Pristava's two wild water slides, as well as the smaller splash area for the little ones. Children's games are also planned throughout the day. Our Beekeepers Society will have a stand demonstrating the many activities of the group. And, lots and lots of dancing!!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED We are in need of volunteers to help make this year another great success! The Church needs our parishioners help by taking shifts in the kitchen, bar, ticket sales, and raffle ticket sales. We will post a sign up sheet soon, but please contact the church rectory for more information on how you can lend a hand. We appreciate your help so much! We also ask all of our volunteers to keep track of their scheduled times and arrive a few minutes early to reduce stress and strain on our coordinators for the event.
DONATIONS NEEDED We need donations for the Chinese Auction. Please consider donating completed/filled baskets, items forbaskets, tickets (sporting, music, community events, etc.), gift cards, or a monetary donation that can be used towards purchasing items for the baskets. Even small monetary donations can go a long way to help create these wonderful prize options. It also helps us better prepare if we have items/baskets in advance if possible, so please contact Geri Hocevar at (440) 364-0606, David Hocevar at (216)965-2252 or drop off items at the rectory.
